Running From Cthulhu

This was one of the most fun projects I have done, to date. A running group was participating in a relay and wanted some t-shirts done. They were printing them with a 4-color process rather than screens so I was free to use what colors I wanted. All they wanted was Cthulhu to be green.

They supplied some photographs of their group like the one below and I was able to illustrate them. I experimented with a different technique in Adobe Illustrator to give the cartoon versions of them a more organic feel than my other digital illustrations.

My original concept was going to be much more comic book zombie apocolapse style with a big Cthulhu with wild face tentacles destroying a city, bringing the destruction more towards the “camera” of sorts. It could have worked, I just wanted to go lighter—felt it fit the project better.
