Tony! Is Awesome

Who I Am

I’m a web designer/developer currently living and working in flyover country (Des Moines, Iowa).

I’ve been designing and building websites for over 10 years casually, 2 1/2 years professionally, and signing my name with an exclamation mark for entirely too long. View my resumé or take a look at

Generation Next

Generation Next

Client: Generation Next Child Development Center
Type: Design, Development

Generation Next is a center located near my home. Their original website was essentially an extention of their brochure they provide to prospective parents. I created the new design using Wordpress to assist in easy updating for the center’s staff.

Heidi & Justin’s Wedding

Heidi & Justin’s Wedding

Client: Heidi & Justin
Type: Design

Heidi and Justin hired me to design them a simple wedding package including invitations, programs and a wedding website to be used to display general information and collect RSVPs.

Justin’s web development force is strong so he did the heavy lifting, I just created the design.

Heroic Ink

Heroic Ink

Client: Heroic Ink Tattoo Shop
Type: Design, Development

Heroic Ink hired me to create their website as a way to provide location information, artist portfolios, and a way to contact them. They were unlikely to update the website often, so the task was to make it as easy as possible.

I built it on Wordpress, but created custom PHP scripts to pull photos from a directory and resize them so they only needed to update a folder.

Maneki Neko

Client: N/A
Type: Illustration

These are often used in homes and places of business for good luck.
I’ve had this drawing for over 5 years and have never done anything with it. It originally was just a sketch to give to a tattoo artist. Since I still haven’t gotten the tattoo, I figured it was time to move past concept.

This illustration is packaged with several file types for sale at Graphic River.

My Home My Style

My Home My Style

Client: August Home Publishing
Type: Development

This is the newest magazine to the August Home family, replacing Workbench magazine, retired in 2009. My Home My Style has a more female focus, and generally easier projects to be completed faster.

I have to say, I’m a little excited about where this magazine is going and what it can do. My wife could verify that I’m not really very handy, so easier projects are appealing to me.

Sam & Sarah Wedding

Sam & Sarah Wedding

Client: Sam & Sarah
Type: Design, Illustration

Sam and Sarah hired me to create all of their printed wedding needs. Invitations with map and RSVP enclosures, tags for their favors, and individual menus at each place-setting. They were married on a beach so that was carried to the theme of the pieces, but an elegant beach.

The sanddollar and starfish illustration I feel complimented the theme. Everything turned out great!

Snyder Home Solutions

Snyder Home Solutions

Client: Snyder Home Solutions
Type: Design, Development, Identity

This client used to work as Outdoor Solutions, focusing on landscaping, but has been working more indoors so a rebranding was fitting.

I was hired to create a full package including the logo, business cards and website. The concept was to show a home with interactive points showcasing his skills and I think it turned out really well. Technical illustrator, Matt Scott, provided the home illustration.
